DOSSIER AUTO MOTIVE The automobile at a time of great change At present, there is no industrial sector more subject to risks than the automotive sector. Barely out of the diesel scandai (even if many convictions are still to come), the sector seems to be under attack on ail sides: between the tremors caused by the trade war led by Donald Trump, the contractions of the Chinese and European markets, the first consequences of a Brexit with catastrophic political management, the reversa! of the market's attitude towards diesel that is being condemned, after a desire to reduce taxes over the past thirty years - especially in France ...., it seems that fate is attacking what is and must remain a beautiful industry. For the automobile, whether cyclists and public transport enthusiasts like it or not, is the expression of peoples, the way - admittedly purely consumerist but very real - to assert themselves and for the people, especially those who finally take their revenge on poverty, to exist. In other words, the automobile must survive and will succeed in doing so by continuing to make us dream, from an early age and to provide pleasure ... but also, from now on, by integrating itself into a broader framework: that of mobility. The automobile must then play a fully societal and environmental raie. Weil aware that a new era is opening up through the electric and autonomous vehicle, both on the roads and in the air, the sector can and must resolutely make its move and take this turn as an opportunity, a chance to create a new design for itself. And this future, making the automobile more responsible by taking into consideration not only drivers but also all road users and the environment as a whole, will only succeed in this societal challenge through ever more efficient and effective, rapid and Jess costly test campaigns, taking into account ail the physical, mechanical and environmental parameters ... to create the automobile of tomorrow by leaving no one at the side of the road !
